Nearly one-third of Korean adults overweight as they consume more fatty food

Waistlines are widening in Korea.
It turns out a growing number of Koreans are piling on the pounds from frequent meals out
and too much greasy food. The NH Livestock Economy Research Center says
more than 31 percent of Koreans over the age of 19 are now classified as “overweight”.
That’s up more than one percentage point since around the turn of the century.
The report says Koreans are now eating more saturated fat than they were a decade or so
ago. Experts say Koreans are consuming more Chinese
and Western cuisine and choosing to dine out more than they used to.
