NEW STUDY Eating Plant Based Reduces Risk of Heart Disease and Stroke

A new scientific study published in the
Journal of the American Heart Association found a link between
cardiovascular health and plant-based diets a contribution to the growing
evidence that eating fewer animal products improves physical health
scientists log the diets of over 10,000 participants who were then split into
two groups those who ate more plant-based food and those who ate more
animal-based foods those in the plant-based group were found to be 16%
less likely to have heart disease heart attacks stroke heart failure and similar
conditions compared to the plant-based group those in the animal-based group
had a 32% higher chance of dying from a cardiovascular disease and a 25% higher
risk of dying from any cause lead scientist Casey’s Rebholz
said these findings don’t necessarily mean one should switch to a vegan diet
though they do indicate that people should limit their meat consumption well
you don’t have to give up foods derived from animals completely our study does
suggest that eating a larger portion of plant-based foods and a smaller portion
of animal-based foods may help reduce your risk of having a heart attack
stroke or other type of cardiovascular disease Reb Holt said read the whole
stressed that simply decreasing meat intake is not enough for a well balanced
diet one should eat more vegetables nuts legumes whole grains and fruits as well
as eating less meat chief science and medical officer of the American Heart
Association Meryl Jessup concurred stating that one should not just limit the meat
in their diet but also choose plant-based foods rich in nutritional
value while the study did not prove that plant-based diets improve heart health
it did highlight a link between the two those who eat plant-based diets are also
more likely to engage in other heart-healthy practices such as
exercising getting sufficient amounts of sleep and managing emotional stress which
could be a contributing factor in the results of the study thank you for

  3. Plant based diets are extreme says many…sure. We will just saw your chest open to do bypass surgery with a 6% chance of dying/stroke, 3 months recover and by-the-way since it doesn’t treat the cause of heart disease will only last 10 years. Wait a second…that sounds a bit more extreme to me. I chose plants! 🌱
