The Real Skinny on Obesity


If you look at obesity trends from the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, There were some states, many states, who were less than 10% obese. Now there’s not one state the nation it has less than a 10% obesity rate. It’s crazy. Most of the states are more than twenty percent, and now there are several states where more than thirty-five percent of the population is obese. Not overweight. OBESE. You can see what’s happening to our society as a whole. When people are heavy, they don’t want to exercise. So if you’re 40 or 50 pounds overweight, how excited are you to go out and start walking around the block? One of the big problems is that we make it all about exercise. People say, “Well, I can’t lose weight because i can’t exercise.” You can easily lose weight by just modifying your food. And then with the exercises, we tend to work the exercise in later. Because it’s more important to get people on the right track metabolically. And then, actually, what kind of exercise is really up to them, because we want them to do what they love. What makes them feel good.
