  1. What's the link between diabetes and obesity? From my perception this is the real problem for bad health. Vegan diet normally makes people loose weight, maybe it's the loosing weight that's made a difference not cutting out animal foods.

  2. Is this a troll video? Most of what he is saying “can’t be said” is widely advertised and supported with peer reviewed research… what is this?

  3. You can say they're keto friendly.
You can say they're carb free, they don't cause an insulin response.
They also have pasteurized eggs, they are safe.
Dietary cholesterol does not readily affect cholesterol in your blood.
You can also eat them yolk free and you can also eat egg product which removes all the negatives of eggs.

  4. Intake of up to 3 Eggs/Day Increases HDL Cholesterol and Plasma Choline While Plasma Trimethylamine-N-oxide is Unchanged in a Healthy Population –

"Participants underwent a 2-week washout with no egg consumption, followed by intake of 1, 2, and 3 eggs/day for 4 weeks each."

"Anthropometric data, blood pressure (BP), dietary records, and plasma biomarkers (lipids, glucose, choline, and TMAO) were measured during each intervention phase."

"BMI, waist circumference, systolic BP, plasma glucose, and plasma triacylglycerol did not change throughout the intervention."

"Diastolic BP decreased with egg intake (P < 0.05)."

    "Compared to 0 eggs/day, intake of 1 egg/day increased HDL cholesterol (HDL-c) (P < 0.05), and decreased LDL cholesterol (LDL-c) (P < 0.05) and the LDL-c/HDL-c ratio (P < 0.01)."

"With intake of 2-3 eggs/day, these changes were maintained."

"Plasma choline increased dose-dependently with egg intake (P < 0.0001) while fasting plasma TMAO was unchanged."

"These results indicate that in a healthy population, consuming up to 3 eggs/day results in an overall beneficial effect on biomarkers associated with CVD risk, as documented by increased HDL-c, a reduced LDL-c/HDL-c ratio, and increased plasma choline in combination with no change in plasma LDL-c or TMAO concentrations."

  5. " The incredible edible egg" Remember that ad campaign ? What a bunch of immoral, unethical liars. Dr Greger should start a class action lawsuit just like against big tobacco . Pay us for all the damage our arteries suffered eating these cholesterol and fat bombs.

  6. Eggs are good for you.
    Eggs are healthy.
Eggs are rich in protein and vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids.
    Eggs are nutritious!
Eggs keep you full and satisfied for hours.
    Eggs are delicious.

  7. Eggs are a part of my daily nutrtition, they are a superfood ! Don't be fooled by vegan propaganda, of course everyone should be disguted by the terrible living conditions that these hens are experiencing, so buy your eggs from a local farm where the hens are free and outside. A happy and well fed hen will produce more quality and nutrient-dense eggs.

  8. This is why vegans look so frail and sickly. Your skin reflects it. We are not meant to eat fruits and vegetables all year round. It’s not sustainable in nature. In most countries, this is not possible. You’ll have more animal products at one time of the year, you’ll have different vegetation at different times of the years. So you cycle from ketosis, to high carbs to low carb. The perfect food utopia you have in America simply does not exist in the rest of the world and yet most live longer and have less child mortality then we do.

  9. Eggs are high in luetin which is good for the eyes. Yes they are high in fat and cholesterol. So eat in moderation. I eat 2 daily but my cholesterol is fine.

  10. Is this coming from the same people who tell me I shouldn't smoke cannabis because it's 5 times more harmful to me than tobacco? Even though I could literally go down to my local gas station and buy a carton of cigarettes and proceed to smoke as many of them as I want to? Literally, like 30 cigarettes in one sitting? What's to stop me from doing exactly that? Why is there no law in place to prohibit me from doing exactly that? Smoking 30 cigarettes in one sitting?

  11. Greger means well and he doesn't intentionally lie but he takes all the studies he reads verbatim too literally. No study beats common sense. The human race is not endangered by enjoying eggs.

  12. BC of you my teacher forces me to take note from ur video for homework!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. How about egg whites?
I find it hard to believe they aren't a rich source of protein. They're the standard to which proteins are compared, the most complete, and they are a decently dense in protein.

  14. Following the logic of less than 1g saturated fat per 100g pretty much all nuts are considered unhealthy, including Greger's favourite, walnuts. I'm not sure this back and forth of censoring certain words is a good case against eggs…

  15. So, isn't there a difference between eggs that come from hens that were feed the best diet and given freedom to roam, forage and exercise, versus eggs from hens stuck in a crowded cage, can't move around and are feed horribly?

  16. Someone explain this:

"Eggs are among the most nutritious foods on earth and can be part of a healthy diet. However, they are perishable just like raw meat, poultry, and fish. Unbroken, clean, fresh shell eggs may contain Salmonella Enteritidis (SE) bacteria that can cause foodborne illness. While the number of eggs affected is quite small, there have been cases of foodborne illness in the last few years. To be safe, eggs must be safely handled, promptly refrigerated, and thoroughly cooked."

  17. Website of the egg board here –
    https://www.eggnutritioncenter.org/

says the following right on the HOME PAGE:

    Protein Packed
    Nutrient dense

    Portion Controlled

  18. What do limitations regarding the the legality of advertising language (based on arbitrary limitations set by the FDA and USDA) have to do wit the real-world benefits of eggs in a diet? Can we use ACTUAL science and evidence here instead of convincing a bunch of science illiterates that eggs have no nutritional value because "derp, we legally can't use the word nutritious in an ad"?

  19. It's probably healthier to just shove the egg up your ass. Btw I love the people who get offended by this information like it isn't widely known. You know your diet is shit and will defend it, but God forbid I should be vegan…. I mean where do I get my protein from???!?

  20. You idiots with cholesterolphobia are doing the rest of us a huge favor in keeping prices down. Eggs are simply the most nutritious food on the planet, along with perhaps animal liver in terms of nutrient density. Eggs provide every nutrient needed to grow a healthy body, in a small, convenient package, including cholesterol which is required by every cell in the body. Every culture regardless of location and ethnicity prizes eggs as food. Only demented industrialized western nations even consider the idiocy of avoiding them. Even ruminants will snarf up an egg when they find one while grazing.

BTW anyone who can stomach Greger's snobbish inflection deserves what they get in terms of poor health. Just unlistenable. He is ten years younger than me and looks like he is about to keel over.

  21. I really appreciate what Dr.Michael Greger has done to transform our conventional medical thinking toward better health. So, inspired by him I jumped out of my comfort zone and now I am on target to make one video every 48 hours and already started a YouTube channel as a dermatologist and Naturopath 2-3 weeks ago regarding how natural medicine and healing power of our own skin and body could cure the current hair and skin issues and chronic diseases such as Diabetes, Cancer, Autoimmune diseases.
I would love some support/feedback so please hit subscribe and check my current videos and the one I am about to publish in the next 48 hours. Peace to you all

  22. It's not just eggs – Salmonella enteritidis is a bacteria and it's one of the most common causes of food poisoning in the U.S. While eggs and poultry are often affected, it can also contaminate unpasteurized milk or juice, cheese, alfalfa sprouts, melons, spices and nuts.

  23. It would be better to only eat eggs only from totally free running hens at special occations – the hens would be much happier and so would people – happy free animals

  24. Organic Free range eggs have allot of nutrients and are almost like a multivitamin that's easy for the human body to digest. Research has shown that most of the cholesterol in our body is made by our liver-it doesn't come from cholesterol we eat. The liver is stimulated to make cholesterol primarily by saturated fat and trans fat in our diet, not dietary cholesterol. But a large egg contains little saturated fat-about 1.5 grams (g). And research has confirmed that eggs also contain many healthy nutrients: lutein and zeaxanthin, which are good for the eyes; choline, which is good for the brain and nerves; and various vitamins (A, B. b12, D). In fact, just one large egg contains 270 international units (IU) of vitamin A and 41 IU of vitamin D. One large egg also contains about 6 g of protein and 72 calories. Sardines are also good for you with Omega3, B12, calcium and the highest food source of Vitamin D and easy for the human body to digest.

  25. I'm so glad that these disgusting things can't be promoted as healthy or nutritious….When are they going to do the same with meat and diary? We know now that these are unsafe to eat

  26. Guys, Big seatbelt is brainwashing us to believe that seatbelts are safe, open your eyes and see through their lies

    Replace X with anything

    Outcome Y is changeable too

    Word bank:

    EGG
    Jews
    Meat
    Cheese
    Uk government
    Cattle industry
    Pepsi Co.
    Vegan high horse
    The Chinese Foxconn

  27. The amount of material you and your team has to go through to make a single video must be massive. You guys present it in such a simple way. Hats-off 👍

  28. It's not a good thing to trust the government (USDA). Cholesterol is not a bad thing. Our body naturally makes cholesterol. Why has big pharma, specifically statin companies, been the leading sellers of drugs? They like to promote the message that cholesterol is bad and causes CV diseases when in fact it's sugar and grains that reek havoc on our health.

  29. Two comments:
1 – What about the HDL vs LDL argument?
2 – About salmonella, while in the U.S. it is unsafe to eat under-cooked or raw eggs, in Japan it is the norm to eat raw and under-cooked eggs. Any comments on that?

  30. I did a speech about veganism in my public speaking class. When I said that the USDA stated that eggs are not safe for consumption. She said "wrong. That's not true." So I told her "okay you got me. They said eggs can't be labeled as healthy" and she just kept saying I was wrong. So I told her to look at my sources. She still disagrees. I still don't know why

  31. I call bullshit, eggs are healthy and nutritious. I've lost 90 lbs and eggs didn't stop me! I eat them almost every day.

  32. On the other hand, they do taste great. Couldn't resist 😉

Thanks for the great video Dr. Greger. I used to eat 2 eggs every day for lunch along with a few pork sausages. While I knew the sausages were not healthy, I was of the perception that eggs were good for me and never felt bad eating them. Clearly I had a lot to learn. I will still enjoy my eggs but just once in a while

  33. I ❤ the Freedom of Information Act. It's so underappreciated with all of this convient contractions (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter….).

  34. man listen the government lie all the time. ima still. eat my eggs . the usda/fda want us to be sick that’s how they make there money . one prime example the government is bs the fda banned marijuana for years. saying it’s bad for you and etc .. they also said it’s ok to take chemotherapy for cancer when in fact chemo kill you faster then the cancer itself and marijuana kills the cancers safety …. DO NOT TRUST THE GOVERNMENT

  35. Dr greger, I am truly disappointed in you for this .. Since when does the government through the FDA tell us what is nutritious and we believe them… And who told you that saturated fat and cholesterol is bad… The government right…

  36. Should be an eye-opener for everyone! This video is going to be on top of my list. Too many people claim that starting the day with 2 eggs and nothing else is the best you can do for your health. LOL. They will get the link to this video by email. But I know for sure that they are going to tell me that "they won't have time to watch it". They are so busy with finding excuses for not even watching "What the Health", and I'm not even try making them read Dr.G's, Dr.McD's, Dr.NeilB's etc books. They rather watch reality shows or car races on TV, sitting on the couch for hours, and eating potato chips or buckets full of KFC garbage. And eat eggs. LOL

  37. Wasn't cholestrol good for you and a necessary component of cells?? I'm confused, though I don't eat that many eggs and am mostly vegetarian.

  38. You made an argument that, “eggs are unsafe”. I’m sure there was an alternative point here…unless you ARE saying eggs are actually…”unsafe”. I love eggs. I buy mine from an Amish family, unwashed.

I have very healthy HDL and extremely low LDL, no heart disease, I’m 45 and weigh 112lbs. I’ve eaten farm fresh eggs my entire lunch de (not created eggs from abused chickens, like the ones emphasized in this video). I eat eggs after a workout. I’m confused about what is NOT being share here about the healthy side of eggs, especially from pasture raised hens.

Maybe a video on the health risks of sugar would be more affective. Our bodies don’t even digest simple sugars (of which they put I almost every food, including milks and meats), and the cancer risks associated with sugars.
I’d love to see a video on that! 😊👍

  39. I’ve watched a handful of these videos. Okay, maybe four handfuls of these videos. I applaud you, standing ovation Dr. Gregor. This topic, the research and all of your hard work for this just raised the ceiling. It’s not hard to believe that the USDA is corrupt, but you filled in all of the blanks. We cannot be fooled! Thank you for all that you do. If I was a billionaire- heck if I was half a millionaire I would throw all my money at you. But my measly self can only like, share, comment, and spread the word. Thank you thank you thank you.

  40. Need to take a close look at what the Australian Heart Foundation is doing now, they are pushing the unlimited consumption of eggs, and of course meat and dairy. Seems like they moved the target down-under.

  41. This is absurd. There is a government department for the promotion of eggs and a government department for the promotion of health. Mutually exclusive concepts and a waste of time and money.
